Who I am, and why I'm here

Hello!

I'm James. I work in a bike shop, and for the last ten years of my life I've been riding, breaking, bodging and getting overexcited by bikes. As I write this, the UK has just gone back into a second full lockdown, and the cycling world is facing unprecedented challenges. It is quite an interesting time to be in the industry, with lead times on new bikes stretching out into mid 2022, and Shimano quoting up to 12 months to supply brands with components.

I'm hoping this blog will work out as a nice little distraction for me to use up those long lockdown evenings, and perhaps also help a few people out with the choices they make. I'm fortunate enough to spend my days surrounded by some amazing products and people, and get the chance to try out all manner of quirky, exciting stuff, so hopefully I can pass on a little of that, if anyone ever finds or reads this page. There should also be some nice little adventures, assuming we're ever allowed out of the county again...
